Visions5: Week 2 (Social Media Dirty Dozen)



1.     Objectives
.        To build a stronger following base on all social media outlets; to involve followers in conversation along with providing them with informational tid-bits throughout the festival process.

.        Visions staff, visions goers, students, filmmakers, scholars
3.     Results
.        Create a small online community for film conversations
.        Create a larger following base
4.     Budget
.        n/a: social media should not require money to be spent

.        All semester
6.     Skills
.        The obvious tech. savvy
.        Ability to be concise
.        Communication
.        Interpersonal (even if we are reaching people behind a computer)
7.     Needed Resources
.        Computers
.        Media website logins

.        Rika: Managing all outlets
.        Hillary/Emily/EVERYONE: giving Rika updates and ideas

.       Posted to google drive for others!
.        Post 3 times a week, every week, and possibly more leading up to and during the festival

.        No one wants to communicate on the new outlets and on the discussions

.        Meetings, phones, social media, email

.        More followers, more attendees and more communication on the outlets

Visions5: Week One (Round Two)

To Do List:


  • grade abstracts
  • look at website
  • come up with a social media sharing schedule
  • research “connecting” websites
  • Promote extended deadline and late deadline
  • make a list of observations from our facebook engagements
  • make countdown images for indiegogo posts
  • proof and shorten film descriptions for website
  • department and social media meetings
  • make weekly blog post

Productive week. The meeting with Beth was really great for making sure we get on the right track with Twitter and gaining more followers and interactions! Facebook is doing great! We are finding out ways to get more people engaged. I'll be making a presentation in class with Hillary about social media and what we need to do!
